Early Life and Background
Austin Bryan French was born in Cordele, Georgia, USA, on February 13, 1994. As of the time of writing, Austin has not shared the names of his parents with the public.
However, he did share what they did for a living. His mother is a music teacher and his father was a worship pastor. Unfortunately, when Austin was 8 years old, his parents got divorced.
Before the divorce, Austin said that he did not grow up in a happy home as there was always one disagreement or quarrel or the other. Because of the situation surrounding his life, he made a vow never to become a Christian.
But, everything changed when at age 13 in eighth grade, Austin attended a music camp to learn how to play the guitar. He said why he wanted to learn how to play the guitar was to meet and impress girls.
It was when a guy got on stage and said “don’t judge Jesus on the broken people he came to save because broken people hurt broken people but jesus wants broken people,” that he gave his life to Christ.
Since then Austin has dedicated his life to serving God and sharing the message of God’s salvation via his music to broken people.
Music Career
Austin French got noticed in 2014 on a TV show called “Rising Star” where he sang songs like “Bless the Broken Road” and “If I Ain’t Got You.” Even though he didn’t win, he got to perform with Josh Groban.
After that, Austin started making Christian music and moved to Florida to work as a worship pastor. He signed a record deal and released his first song, “Freedom Hymn,” in 2017. The song did well on Christian music charts.
His first album, “Wide Open,” came out in 2018 with popular songs like “Freedom Hymn,” “Wide Open,” “Why God,” “Born Again,” and “Good Feeling.” It made its way onto the Billboard charts.
One of his songs, “Good Feeling,” even got featured in the trailer for a Pixar movie called “Elio” in 2024. Austin French’s music journey shows how he went from a TV show to making impactful Christian songs.
