Alaqua Cox was born on February 14, 1997, in Menominee Indian Reservation, Wisconsin, U.S. She was Deaf from birth, and her parents are Elena and Bill Cox.
Alaqua is a member of the Menominee and Mohican nation, and she has three siblings: Will, Jordan, and Katie.
She attended the Wisconsin School for the Deaf and played on the girls’ basketball team from 2014 to 2015, and she was also part of the volleyball team.
Professional Career
Alaqua Cox landed her first acting gig in the role of Echo for Hawkeye on December 3, 2020. This was a big deal, and people like Deaf activist Nyle DiMarco cheered on the casting choice.
