Rolf Forsberg was born on 12 July 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was a playwright, and film director popularly known for directing films such as “The Late Great Planet Earth” and “Parable”, a film produced for the “New York World’s Fair” in 1964.

He grew up speaking Swedish in the 1930s as the only son of immigrants on Chicago’s northwest side.

Forsberg died on February 16, 2017, in Sierra Madre, California, USA. Before his death, he received was offered a retrospective of the works of Rolf Forsberg titled “The Outre World of Rolf Forsberg” by the UCLA Film and Television Archive on June 8, 2013.

Rolf Forsberg is survived by his wife Josephine Forsberg (an actress, second unit director or assistant director, Producer), his son Eric Forsberg (film director and founding member of Vortex Filmz and Cerebral Experiment), and granddaughter Lola Forsberg(child actress).
