He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served for 8 years, and was anticipating the arrival of his son when tragedy struck. On May 25, 2015, Yung Coo was tragically shot three times in his hometown, It was a deeply traumatic event for Shanice.

Additionally, Shanice has experienced the bittersweet journey of motherhood. In 2018, she faced the heartbreaking loss of her first child, a son.
